Reverend Bernard “Bernie” Francis Tickerhoof, TOR, a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Third Order Regular, Province of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, was called home to the Lord on May 10, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born in Johnstown, PA, Fr. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, David and Magdalen Ann (Ruth) Henry. He is survived by his brother, Fr. David Tickerhoof, TOR; sister, Ruthayn Tickerhoof; brother, Gerald Tickerhoof; friends, and his Franciscan Community.
A viewing was held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Saint Francis Friary at Mount Assisi in Loretto, PA. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Saint Francis Friary with the Very Reverend Joseph Lehman, TOR, as principal celebrant. After the Mass, interment will take place at the Franciscan Friars’ Cemetery on the campus of Saint Francis University, Loretto. The full obituary can be viewed at www.franciscanstor.org.
