The Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown is thrilled to announce the addition of two seminarians.

Jonathan Eger, pictured above on the left, is a member of Saint Andrew Parish in Johnstown.

On the right is Andrew Foster, a parishioner at Saint Mary in Hollidaysburg.

Both Eger and Foster have been accepted to begin their seminary journey with the propaedeutic stage at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmittsburg, Maryland, in August.

The propaedeutic stage is an initial, dedicated year of preparation and discernment required for men entering Catholic seminaries. Mandated by the Vatican and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, it focuses intensely on human and spiritual formation, intentional prayer, and emotional growth.

Eger and Foster join the diocese’s other seminarian, Liam Clyma of Saint Mark Parish in Altoona, who is attending college seminary at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Ohio.
