Lilly Parish Hosting 40 Hours Eucharistic Devotion

301

Our Lady of the Alleghenies Parish in Lilly will host a 40 Hours Devotion on Sunday through Tuesday September 11 through September 13.

Devotions will be prayed each evening at 7:00 p.m., with newly ordained priest Father Brian Norris as celebrant and homilist each night. Priests will be available to hear Confessions after the devotions each evening.

The themes for each evening are:
Sunday — “The Eucharist: What is it?”
Monday — “The Eucharist: Food for the Journey”
Tuesday — “The Eucharist: Christ’s Abiding Presence”

On the final night, there will be an outdoor Eucharistic procession around the grounds of the church, weather permitting.

The centuries-old tradition of 40 Hours Eucharistic Devotion is an opportunity for the faithful to gather in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. During this period of Eucharistic Revival in the United States, Catholics are called to engage more fully in their relationship with Jesus Christ through the Eucharist and celebrate more fully in the Eucharistic life of the Church.
