Bishop McCort Catholic High School Music Department Announces Scholarship Recipients

Bishop McCort Catholic High School in Johnstown recognized the accomplishments of two performing arts 2022 graduates who will be continuing their education in music this fall.

Jessie Yahner will attend Penn State University for both violin and trombone. She received Performance Scholarships totaling $24,000. In addition, Jessie has been selected to attend the Blue Band Camp this August to complete the audition process to become an official member of the Penn State University Marching Blue Band.

Anna Stofko is one of only 36 incoming freshmen accepted into the Musical Theater Program at Pace University in New York City. Pace University is among the best Universities for Performing Arts and Theater programs. Anna completed an extensive application and audition process to gain admittance. In addition to her acceptance, Anna was awarded a Pace University Presidential Scholarship for each of her four years while working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Bishop McCort Catholic High School Music Department presents multiple productions throughout the year including plays, musicals and concerts. The arts are an important component to a well balanced education, as such, performing arts credits are required at Bishop McCort.
