Sister Anna Maria Lorenzon, SSA — 1935-2024

Sister Anna Maria Lorenzon died on June 24, 2024, in Ebensburg, Pa. She was 88 and in her 62nd year of religious life.

She was born on December 27, 1935, to Dino and Adelia Lorenzon in Treviso Italy. She was graduated from ”Saint Ann, Opera Pia Barolo High School” Turin, Italy.

On December 8, 1959, she entered the Postulancy at Sisters of St. Ann in Turin. She was received into the Novitiate on August 10, 1960. Professed her First Vows on September 8, 1962, and pronounced her final vows on September 8, 1968.

She received a nursing degree from St Camillo De Lelis’ Hospital in Rome.

On April 1972 she was sent to the Community of Ebensburg, Pa.  She received a bachelor’s degree in Religious studies from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pa.

Over the years, she was Director of catechetical programs, Mission Procurator, Local Superior and Delegate superior. All her responsibilities were carried out with great dedication and love for the Church and the Institute. As a Mission Procurator she traveled far and wide in the United States appealing for spiritual and financial support of the poor whom the Sisters of Saint Ann served in different parts of the world.

Sister Anna Maria was preceded in by her parents, Gino and Adelia Lorenzon; and her brothers Dino and Bruno Lorenzon. She is survived by her Sister, Rita Genninario – Lorenzon.

The viewing for Sr. Anna Maria Lorenzon will begin on Wednesday June 26, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Sisters of St. Anns Convent, 1120 N. Center St. Ebensburg. Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Church, Ebensburg, Rev. Father Brian Warchola main celebrant with various priests con celebrants. Internment Old Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
