Every year, Pope Francis requests prayers for a specific intention each month.
For this month of May, the Holy Father is inviting prayers for deacons.
His intention is as follows:
We pray that deacons, faithful in their service to the Word and the poor, may be an invigorating symbol for the entire Church.
In honor of Pope Francis’ prayer intentions, Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers invite the faithful to join them in a day of prayer for deacons on May 2.
Saint Philip the Deacon – pray for us to be worthy servants of the Gospel. May the Holy Spirit fill us with the same passion you had to continue the mission of Jesus by crossing borders to bring the Good News of God’s love to all.
