Saint Catherine of Siena Parish in Duncansville will sponsor a three-day parish mission April 27-29 that highlights faith, fellowship, and good food.
On April 27, Divine Mercy Sunday, the theme will be Jesus and Divine Mercy.
The usual Sunday Masses will be celebrated at 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the church.
At 2:00 p.m., the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated.
A Divine Mercy Holy Hour will happen at 3:00 p.m.
From 4:00-7:00 p.m., there will be food trucks on the campus, and an outdoor Mass at the parish’s Fatima Shrine behind the church will be celebrated.
The theme on Monday, April 28, will be The Holy Spirit: The Fire of Peace.
The following will occur from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the church:
- Praise and Worship music
- Witness talks
- A talk on the Holy Spirit
- Praying for a new outpouring of the Spirit
The mission will conclude on Tuesday, April 29, the patronal feast day for Saint Catherine of Siena, with the theme The Saints as our Friends and Intercessors.
Mass will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. in the church, followed by a parish dinner in the church hall, which will include pulled pork provided by the parish. Guests are invited to sign up in advance with a side dish or dessert that they will bring.
Besides the outdoor Mass on April 27 at the Fatima Shrine, the parish has announced other spring, summer, and fall opportunities at the shrine.
Other outdoor Masses (weather permitting) include:
- Saturday, June 14 at 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday, July 13 at 8:00 a.m.
- Sunday, August 10 at 11:00 a.m.
On the 13th day of each month, May through October, an outdoor Rosary will be prayed at the shrine at 6:00 p.m.
The annual Birth of Mary Celebration on September 8 will include Masses at 7:45 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. in the church and an outdoor Mass at the Fatima Shrine at 5:30 p.m.
