Brother Martin “Marty” J. Zatsick, T.O.R., 75, a member of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis, Province of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus for 56 years, died on June 29, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Br. Marty is preceded in death by his parents, George and Anne Rose (Marino) and Brother-in-law, David L. Smith, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Catherine Smith, his brother Edward as well as two nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, and his Franciscan Community.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Saint Francis Friary at Mount Assisi in Loretto, PA from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Vigil Prayer Service will follow at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at St. Francis Friary at Mount Assisi with the Very Rev. Joseph Lehman, T.O.R., Minister Provincial as principal celebrant. Following the Mass, interment will take place at the Franciscan Friars’ Cemetery on the campus of Saint Francis University, Loretto.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Ss. Cosmas and Damian Parish in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
