The College Board recently announced that Bishop Guilfoyle Academy has been named to the Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning GOLD distinction.

The AP® School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP® progran1s are delivering results for students while broadening participation. Schools.can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

In 2024-25, Bishop Guilfoyle Academy had 78% of its seniors take at least one AP® course during high school and 53% of seniors earned college credit from their score on an AP® exam. BG offered 16 AP® courses, including the AP® CAP stone courses-AP® Seminar and AP® Research.

Nine BG faculty members taught a range of AP® courses such as AP® 2-D Art and Design, AP® Biology, AP® Calculus AB, AP® European Histo1y, and AP® Psychology. Additional AP® offerings, including AP® Computer Science Principles and AP® Calculus BC, which were made available tlu-ough virtual platform.

College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies-with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both-while still in high school. Through AP® courses in 40 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue-skills that prepare them for college and beyond.
