From Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy
Asa Reynolds, a senior at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy, was named a Commended Student in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Head of School Ms. Jennifer Mallett explains that this achievement places Reynolds among the 34,000 high school students receiving recognition for exceptional academic promise.
“This is a testament to the tenacious work ethic and determination of Asa, our innovative and engaging teaching staff, our supportive Board of Trustees and our engaged parents and guardians,” said Ms. Mallett.
“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” said a spokesperson for National Merit Scholarship Corporation. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
Reynolds said he is honored to be recognized as a Commended Student in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. “Being recognized as a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program means so much to me. I studied for the PSAT with the goal of qualifying for this program, and I am deeply gratified that my work has paid off in this way. I would like to thank my parents for their unwavering support, and the teachers at Saint Joseph’s for preparing me to succeed,” Reynolds said.
Reynolds plans to attend a four-year university to study computer science.
