Saint Bernard Parish in Hastings is getting ready to welcome the faithful throughout the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown to view a small piece of Papal history.
On February 14, 2025, at the Vatican, His holiness Pope Francis wore the zucchetto given to Michael Espirito who gifted it to Saint Patrick’s Old Cathedral Basilica.
His Holiness Pope Francis died on Monday, April 21, 2025, Easter Monday.
Saint Bernard Parish is blessed to have the zucchetto available to view beginning on May 29 through June 12 from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Saint John Gualbert Cathedral in Johnstown will be blessed to have the zucchetto for viewing from June 13 through June 23.
All are welcome to meditate and pray in thanksgiving for the self-giving life of His Holiness Pope Francis and for the guidance of the Holy Spirit for His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
