Mount Aloysius College is announcing a new pathway designed to make it easier for paramedics and veterans to become nurses.

The new pathway, called the Medical Provider Transition to RN program, recognizes the skills and backgrounds that paramedics, veterans, and LPNs already have and allows them to apply those skills to their learning.

This pathway will take approximately three to four semesters to complete if the individual has already taken Anatomy & Physiology I.

“We plan to build on the skills of the individuals as they transition in,” says Dr. Heather Zonts, Dean of Nursing at Mount Aloysius. “We’ll look at what they’re bringing into the program. Then, we’ll tailor the coursework to meet their learning needs to make sure they’re successful within the nursing program.”
