As the season of Lent approaches, opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered in a similar fashion as this past Advent season.
As he did in the weeks leading up to Christmas, Bishop Mark has asked pastors to make various opportunities for Confession available at their parishes throughout Lent. Once again, the Bishop has instructed the clergy to not sponsor the usual Communal Penance Services because of the continuing pandemic.
The Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown Office of Communications has invited all parishes in the diocese to submit a schedule of Reconciliation opportunities leading up to Easter. They will be published in diocesan media in the coming weeks.
Priests and penitents must wear masks and practice physical distancing while celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
