The month of February may be shorter than other months on the calendars, but Holy Name School is not short on February activities. This column was written by Brynn Koscho and Paige Landis.
Students from across the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese are participating in the Divinely Inspired Art Show. Every grade level at Holy Name School will have works of art on display. This show will run at the Bottle Works in Johnstown from February 14, 2020 until March 2, 2020. Winners will be notified Saturday February 15. There will be a reception and awards ceremony on February 16, 2020, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Please stop by and check out the awesome art!
Members of the eighth grade class have been selling basket raffle tickets to raise money for their class trip and graduation activities. The drawing will take place tomorrow. Could you be one of the lucky winners?
Students in first grade have been celebrating National Dental Health Month. Using their science skills, they are examining the effect of different liquids on their teeth. They have been soaking eggs in various beverages such as soda. They will then brush the egg shells to see what damage is done to the teeth. This activity will teach them to make wise choices to help keep their teeth strong and healthy.
Our final quote is from Pablo Picasso: “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
