Bishop Mark has instructed clergy in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown to not make any changes following the latest restrictions announced today (July 15) by Governor Tom Wolf.

Among the governor’s orders, indoor gatherings are now limited to just 25 people.

“Please be advised that this does not apply to churches,” Bishop Mark informed priests and deacons. “Continue to follow current diocesan guidelines with regard to wearing a mask and distancing in churches that we have been following. Do not make any changes.”

The Bishop thanked the clergy for their continued support. Despite the challenges of masks and social distancing at Mass, the current directives are important for the health and safety of everyone, he reminded.

Bishop Mark is also grateful to parishioners for all they are doing to comply with the directives.

He invites the clergy and faithful to join with him in praying for all those who are affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
