The Bishop McCort Catholic High School and Forest Hills High School Basketball teams will meet this week for the “Bigger than Basketball Rivalry Games.”
The boy’s game will take place on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Hills High School in Sidman and the girl’s game Friday, December 20, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown.
The teams are partnering with the Sideline Cancer to benefit Ansley Stigers, a 10th grade student at Bishop McCort who is battling a rare medical complication that mimics lymphoma.
At Sideline Cancer, they harness the uplifting power of high school and college sports to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing cancer, fostering an “I Can Attitude & Believe Always Spirit!”
With the sale of Sideline Cancer Merchandise and the generous contributions from our supporters, both online and in person, they’ve been able to extend a helping hand to over 35 patients across 20 diverse school communities in just the past two years.
Every purchase and donation directly impacts those in need, spreading hope and positivity in the face of adversity.
Erika Strittmatter, Bishop McCort Athletic Director and Assistant Girls Basketball Coach says, “We are overjoyed to join in this worthwhile cause all while supporting one of our own students. Join in the excitement this Friday by watching an action-packed match up of basketball teams and at the same time, supporting Ansley Stigers in her battle.”
