Forget the popular advertising campaign, “Got Milk?”

Yes, calcium and vitamin D are important, but Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown Youth Ministry Coordinator Francine Swope knows young people need something even more.

The theme of Junior High Youth Day 2022 will be “Got Faith? You Gotta Have Faith!”

“As baptized Catholics, we all have been welcomed into the faith, but are you really practicing and enjoying the graces of the faith,” Swope asked. “Our strength comes from our faith in God. Having faith makes our life better and difficulties much easier if we trust in our faith.”

Held virtually again this year, JHYD is scheduled for Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The experience is open to students in grades 6, 7, and 8.

Fresh off his SHYCON 2021 appearance, renowned musician and composer Jesse Manibusan will be the keynote speaker.

“Jesse is a very engaging person who shares his faith through humor, stories, and his awesome music,” Swope noted. “Young people can connect and really get what he is sharing with them. He has always been among our favorite national speakers to visit the diocese. Our youth will love spending time with him.”

Bishop Mark will offer a special video message to the young people.

Students can register through their parish or Catholic school. The deadline to register is March 14. There is no cost to participate.
