Musicians and choirs throughout the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown are preparing to celebrate the season with beautiful music. Various concerts are planned in the coming days throughout the diocese.
An Advent of Christmas concert is happening at Saint John Gualbert Cathedral on Saturday, December 21 at 7:30 p.m. The program will feature the Greater Johnstown Diocesan Festival Choir and Bishop McCort Academy Chorale. The choral groups will be accompanied by the Saint John Gualbert Cathedral Chamber Ensemble. All are welcome.Â
Prince of Peace Parish in Northern Cambria will host a Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 26 at 7:00 p.m. Beautiful carols and hymns will be presented by the Ortiz Schola on Thursday, December 26 at 7:00 p.m. All are invited to the concert to enjoy the music while meditating on the Lord’s Nativity.

The choir at Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Altoona will present the Christmas Cantata-Drama A Thrill of Hope on Sunday, January 5 – the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord – at 3:00 p.m. in the church. All are welcome.
