Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish in Central City will host a lecture on Slovak culture on February 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the parish’s Activity Center at 738 Sunshine Avenue, Central City.

The presenter will be Joseph Bielecki, an attorney who was the recipient of a Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Travel Grant to Hungary in 1982. He has been the chairman of the Czechoslovak Classroom Committee at the University of Pittsburgh’s Nationality Rooms Program since 1992. In 2000, he received a Millennium International Volunteer Award from the United States Department of State.

Bielecki’s presentation will focus on three topics: regional differences in Slovakia, why Slovaks came to Western Pennsylvania, and cherished Slovak Easter customs.

The event is free, but please call the Our Lady Queen of Angels parish office at (814) 754-5224 to register.
