2965

Knights of Columbus from the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown presented Bishop Mark with checks totaling $8,270 for the support of seminarians.  These annual donations come from the Knights’ Christopher Fund and proceeds from the Label Program.  Making the presentation were Diocesan Membership Chairman John George, FDD, State Warden Anthony J. Ream, and CE Regional Program Chairman Lionel Bassett, FDD.

During the visit to the Diocesan Pastoral Center, former State Chaplain Rev. (COL) Gregory D’Emma presented Bishop Bartchak with the Icon of Our Lady Help of Persecuted Christians, which toured the diocese from January through March.

In addition to the presentation, Immediate Past State Deputy Mark Jago, FIC discussed the Knights’ highly successful “Leave No Neighbor Behind” Program and the “Into the Breach” Video Series beginning this fall. Special emphasis was made on Knights supporting their pastors by helping him to restore the spiritual life of their parishes during this pandemic.

Also, in attendance were General Agent Steven Hutek and Field Agent James Nardelli, who updated the bishop on the agency’s progress in recruiting new members and agents for the diocese.
