From Bishop McCort Catholic Academy
Bishop McCort Catholic Elementary students who are engaged in the schools ACE (Academic Course Enhancement) program are participating in a number of hands-on activities that are designed to broaden the scope of their education and open their minds to new interests.
“Through our faith-based curriculum we are able to provide learning experiences for our students at Bishop McCort Catholic Academy Elementary Schools. Learning about SCUBA Diving on a SMART Board or Books is one thing but actually doing it with real equipment in the water is another. Our students studied this topic to become familiar with terms, identifying parts, and even applied some critical thinking skills for safety,” says Jovel Segear who heads the ACE program. Students will put all this learning to the test this Thursday April 3, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., at Pitt-Johnstown’s Zamias Aquatic Center.
Bishop McCort students continue to push education through experiences outside the normal daily school routine which makes a long-lasting impression and defines our statement of Witness the Difference. Other experiences are planned such as Indoor Sky Diving, Team Building Programs, Leadership Programs, and our Summer Enrichment Program which will take the students to Georgia and Florida in June.
