Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish in Bedford

In the Roman Catholic Church, the Easter Triduum begins on Holy Thursday with a celebration of The Lord’s Supper at an evening Mass, continues with the solemn observance of The Passion of Our Lord on Good Friday, and concludes with the Easter Vigil.  At the Vigil Mass, preparation for the Resurrection includes the blessing of the fire, representing the light of Christ and His victory over death.

The Easter Celebration culminates with Easter Sunday morning Masses. Father Richard Tomkosky, Pastor of Saint Thomas the Apostle, officiated at all five services.  Bedford’s first Catholic Parish was founded by The Apostle of the Alleghenies, Father Demetrius Augustine Gallitzin, in 1817.
