Mass and Eucharistic Procession Planned in Loretto

A diocesan Eucharistic celebration is happening again this year. Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 11 – the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Bishop Mark will be the celebrant.

An outdoor Mass will be celebrated at the Our Lady of the Alleghenies Shrine in Loretto, followed by a Eucharistic procession. Once again this year, the festivities will begin earlier that day with the opportunity for Eucharistic Adoration inside the Basilica of Saint Michael the Archangel. Priests will also be on hand to hear Confessions.

This year’s celebration follows a similar gathering last year, which marked the diocesan launch of the Eucharistic Revival in the Catholic Church in America. Bishops of the United States have entered into a multi-year Eucharistic Revival to help Catholics reconnect with the True Presence of Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist, and ultimately renew the Church.

This first year of the Eucharistic Revival is dedicated to diocesan renewal.

The June 11 celebration in Loretto will mark the launch of the second phase of the Eucharistic Revival – a year dedicated to parish revival.
