Do you know someone worthy of recognition for his or her selfless deeds?
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown is seeking nominations for its two prestigious annual awards.
The Monsignor William M. Griffin Humanitarian Award honors adults demonstrating a significant, long-term commitment (professional or volunteer) to serving the poor, marginalized, and most vulnerable within our eight-county diocese.
The Matthew 25 Youth Humanitarian Award salutes elementary and high school students who demonstrate exceptional service to their communities, especially service to the poor and needy. This service must be above and beyond required school community service hours and service as a parish altar server.
More information, award criteria, and nomination forms for both awards are on the diocesan website and Facebook page. Nominations are due by Friday, March 29. Questions may be directed to the Altoona office of Catholic Charities at (814) 944-9388.
The winners will be honored at the annual Catholic Charities Recognition Dinner on Thursday, June 6 at the Casino at Lakemont Park in Altoona.
