Tyrone Parish Hosts Respect Life March

The 36th annual Respect Life March happened on January 15.

Pro-life individuals gathered for a prayer service at Saint Matthew Parish in Tyrone and then walked 1.25 miles to Oak Grove Cemetery and the grave of Baby Agnes Doe for another brief prayer service.

The Respect Life March, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Saint Gregory Council at Saint Matthew, has been a tradition since the remains of an unidentified baby girl were found in the Bellwood area in 1987.

When authorities completed their investigation, the Knights adopted the baby, gave her the name Baby Agnes Doe, and provided a funeral Mass and proper burial.

Following the gathering at the cemetery, folks gathered for a hot lunch back at Saint Matthew Parish.
